The 2nd International Alexander Petrenko Pro Memoria tournament14 july 2008

In Khimki Basketball Center the 2nd Alexander Petrenko Pro Memoria Tournament was staged 11-13 of July. Four European National teams U18 participated to it: Czech Republic, Greece, Italy and Russia. The National team of Greece became the champion, Russia placed second and Czech Republic won bronze. According to our guests, the organization was on a high level.

The champion was determined in match of last day – Greece and Russia. Both teams heretofore didn’t lost games. It was the stubborn struggle, but at the end of the match Greek players, physically more strong, snatched a victory 90-77.

The tournament was closed with the awarding of cups, trophies, and individual mentions. Awards have been granted to all teams. In the ceremony of awarding participated many famous and authoritative specialists:
The European Youth Basketball League president Guntis Shenkhovs, the BC Khimki General Manager and vice-president of EYBL Victor Bychkov, the Olympic Champion -1972 Ivan Edeshko, the Deputy of the Head of Administration of the urban district Khimki Sergey Alekseev, the councilor of director of basketball Superleague – Valery Kuzenkov, the main specialist of men’s Superleague department – Vladimir Revenko , the sports director of BC Khimki — Alexander Severov.
