26 julyAlexander Petrenko Pro Memoria was held from July 24 to 26

The third International Alexander Petrenko Pro Memoria tournament was held from 24 to 26 July in the Palace of Sport “Lobnya” (the town of Lobnya, Moscow region). It was devoted to the memory of a former BC Khimki Captain and the player of the national team of Russia Alexander Petrenko. Four European National teams U-16 participated in it: Croatia, Serbia, Lithuania and Russia.

A new player of BC Khimki is 27-year-old American with a Polish passport, a current holder of European Cup Thomas Kelati. BC Khimki signed with him a 2-year contract.

16 julyAlexander Boloshev died

Prominent Russian basketball player, the 1972 Olympic Games winner, honoured master of sports, the legend of Soviet sport, and BC Khimki General Director Deputy Alexander Boloshev died at the age of 63 on July, 16 after a long illness. We lost a great sportsman and a wonderful person.

Twenty-six years old Vadim Panin has become a new player of our team. The contract with the basketball player was signed for 2 years.

Two new players joined our team – Kresimir Loncar and Alexey Savrasenko. They play in the position of a center. Both basketball players signed two year contracts.

Today the mass media has reported that the BC Khimki center Timofey Mozgov signed a three-year contract with an NBA club New York Knicks. The General Director of BC Khimki Viktor Bychkov commented the information:

8 julyJuveCaserta Basket (Italy) is the first opponent of BC Khimki in Euroleague 2010/2011

A draw ceremony of Euroleague 2010/2011 group and qualifying rounds was held in Barcelona. The first opponent of BC Khimki in the qualifying part of QB grid is JuveCaserta Basket – a semifinalist of Italian Championship and a silver medalist of the regular stage. Also, according to the lot, our team will not meet in the qualification round with another Russian basketball club – UNICS Kazan.

1 julyBenjamin Eze is a BC Khimki player

A Nigerian center with an Italian passport Benjamin Eze has become a new BC Khimki basketball player. He moved to Khimki from Siena (Italy), where he became a threefold Italian championship winner and the winner of Super Cup as well. The contract was signed on the system “2 + 1”.
