POST-GAME

Georgios Bartzokas, BC Khimki head coach:

“Today it was a very bad game from us. We didn’t do anything to win this game. If you look at the statistics you can understand that they took twenty more rebounds. We allowed them to make 32 assists. Generally, our approach was completely soft. Just imagine that in the last quarter we had finished the game with only one foul and had zero fouls just a few minutes before the end of the game. So, if you want to qualify to the play-offs and be a successful team, somehow you need to be tough. First of all, tough with yourself and then as a team. You need to foul, fight for rebounds and stay together. Today we didn’t make anything from all these things. We deserved to lose the game. Congratulations to Barcelona and Happy New Year”.

Anthony Gill, BC Khimki forward:

“In the last quarter we didn’t play defense we supposed to and allowed them to score open shots. They penetrated; and we didn’t foul as we had only one foul in the last quarter. For sure, they hurt us, as we didn’t play physical basketball in the fourth quarter. I think that’s why we went wrong in this game. In the second quarter Stefan [Markovic] and Tyler [Honeycutt] came in and gave us a lot of energy getting back into the game. We had to be consistent the the whole game, from the first part till the end”.
