Experienced American Kenny Gregory (197-G/F-78) had an amazing evening in the last round for Union Olimpija Ljubljana and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Top 16).
The 32-year old swingman had a double-double of 19 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team edged out Lottomatica (0-1) on the road 64-63. It allowed Union Olimpija to jump to the first place in Group F. But it's just the very beginning of the Top 16 and Union Olimpija won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Gregory turned to be Union Olimpija's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old American forward Mike Batiste (203-F-77) of Panathinaikos Athens. Batiste impressed basketball fans with 26 points and 3 rebounds. Of course he lead Panathinaikos to comfortable win outscoring Lietuvos Rytas (0-1) on the road 80-59. His team has extremely good start of the Top 16. They won their first game. However the Top 16 is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Batiste is one of the most experienced players at Panathinaikos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Marvis Thornton (194-G-77) of Efes Pilsen Istanbul. Thornton scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Efes Pilsen, leading his team to a 60-58 win against Montepaschi. Efes Pilsen has a very good start of the Top 16. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Thornton has a very solid season so far. In 11 games in Euroleague he scored 8.5ppg. He also has 5.3rpg and FGP: 55.8%.

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) — 2*BSAG — 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM — 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) — 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) — (FTA-FTM)
