Today in Barcelona, Spain Turkish Airlines Euroleague Draw 2011-12 has been held. According to its results BC Khimki in the first qualifying round will play with Polish championship finalist PGE Turów Zgorzelec.

22 teams that have already secured their places in the Euroleague Regular Season were divided into four groups of six teams, with two more team still to be added from the Qualifying Rounds. The Qualifying Rounds will take place from September 29 through October 2 with 16 teams battling for two last tickets to the Regular Season at separate eight-team tournaments.

Victor Bychkov, BC Khimki General Manager:

— We got to a very good subgroup. Anyway, at first glance there are no teams that seem to be an insurmountable obstacle for our club. On the other hand, as usual before the start of the season, all the competitors have equal chances. A lot will depend on the summer selection campaign. Our task at this stage is that in spite of the fact that many BC Khimki players will play at the EuroBasket in Lithuania, to prepare in such a way that at the right time be stronger than our opponents. We want to win the honor and the right to represent Russia in the main draw of the season of Euroleague 2011/2012. We have a little rest ahead, and in August the team will start active training process.

The winner of the subgroup B in qualifying round will take a place in Group D of Euroleague regular stage. The clubs that fail will become participants of the main round of EuroCup.
