PBL. BC Khimki vs. Enisey22 january 2011

Having broken down the Enisey's resistance in the first half of the game, BC Khimki confidently won — 102-69 (31-13, 18-24, 29-19, 24-13), held a PBL effectiveness record. The next game our team will play within the bounds of PBL championship with Dynamo on Saturday, 29 at 18:00 Moscow time.

Best scorers: Fridzon (16), Langford (16), Kelati (15), Loncar (14 + 7 rebounds), Savrasenko (11 + 8 rebounds), Monya (11), Dmitriev (9), Planinic (6 + 9 assists).

Stevan Karadžić, BC Enisey head coach:

– I congratulate BC Khimki on a victory. Today we have played poorly, especially in defense, and as a result our rival celebrated such a convincing success. We had a lot of problems under the hoop, there was no defense, and Khimki punished us realizing accurate three-pointers. They are the leaders of the PBL championship with three-pointers. We also have injuries: Sergeev stayed home, Williams did not train for 3-4 days before the game with Khimki as well. A lot of work is to be still done.

Oleg Meleschenko, BC Khimki acting head coach:

– First of all we succeeded in defense against the Enisey leaders – Baxter, Williams and Labovic, as we had planned. From the first minutes we managed to burden Baxter with fouls and didn’t allow Williams to play his own game. Labovic found himself only nearer the end of the match. In the second quarter we relaxed and missed 24 points – it’s too much. This victory will give us the psychological confidence. “Chemistry” in the team is now at a good level. I would like to thank all my players for a good job. As for Dmitriev, he is ready by approx 80 percent. Last week he worked with the team and today justified hopes we had pinned on him. He is a very important player in the rotation.
