Euroleague. Qualifying round. BC Khimki vs. Caserta24 september 2010

The second game of Euroleague's First Qualifying round moved to Khimki. It coincided with the opening of a new season for our team. Meeting with Italian Caserta was preceded by a colorful pre-match show. Eze's 14 points, along with a confident game of his teammates, determined the outcome of the match — 85-66 (20-19, 27-13, 15-20, 23-14). On September, 28 Ukrainian Budivelnik is waiting for us.

BC Khimki’s starting five is the following: Langford, Eze, Panin, Monya, Planinić. Keith Langford brings first points to our team. One of the best players is Benjamin Eze – he makes a spectacular slam dunk after the Fridzon’s assist. But the guests try to restore the balance by three-pointers. As a result – 20-19 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter due to a confident play, successful rebounds and steals BC Khimki has left far behind 31-24. Zaytsev makes his début in Euroleague 2010/2011. The guests try to impose pressure and to catch up our team by three-pointers. Eze is gorgeous on rebounds, moreover, he again makes a showy slam dunk. Players go into break with the score 47-32.

During the half-break Sacripanti has managed to cheer up his team and the Italians score the first. Eze, Planinić and Kelati alternately gain 7 points in sum, and the advantage of Khimki has reached 20 points. It seems that the outcome of the match is already clear.

The final quarter started with the score 62-52. BC Khimki players again have made a finishing spurt, adding as in attack as in defense. Dmitriev, Langford, Fridzon, Eze have gained points to our team. The result is our victory – 85-66. Arrivederci, Caserta!
