Russian Championship. A hard-earned victory in Surgut10 october 2007

The second match BC Khimki played against Universitet-Yugra Surgut. “The students” gave battle to the favorites from Moscow Region, but BC Khimki succeeded to snatch the victory — 86-79 (20-24, 21-16, 21-19, 24-20). Next match yellow-blue will play at home Centre in Khimki on 16th of October.


Top scorers: Lampe (18+11 rebounds), Rannikko (18), Fridzon (11), Wilkinson (11).

The starting five was: Ewing, Fridzon, McCarty, Dyachok, Lampe.

It was a stubborn struggle. In first period Khimki players allowed their opponents to take the lead, but the second ten minutes yellow-blue played more disciplined in the defense. Teemu Rannikko and started to carry the team: he didn’t miss once. Under the backboard Lampe acted efficiently. The end of the match was difficult. The decisive factor was the choice of tactics. And BC Khimki staff was stronger in this element and snatched the victory.
