Anadolu Efes Istanbul reached a new agreement with power forward Derrick Brown to keep working together for two more years, until the end of the 2018-19 season, the club announced Wednesday.
Brown (2.03 meters, 29 years old) averaged 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 36 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, his second with Efes. He led the team in performance index rating, averaging 15.3 per game. Brown started his career with Charlotte of the NBA and also played for New York before joining Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in the 2012-13 season. He helped Lokomotiv win the 7DAYS EuroCup title in 2013, which allowed Brown to make his EuroLeague debut in the 2013-14 season, averaging 13.8 points and 4.5 rebounds in 23 games. Last season, Brown helped Efes reach the EuroLeague playoffs, coming withing one win from reaching the Final Four, and earned MVP honors in regular season rounds 10 and 21. Brown was chosen as the EuroLeague MVP for November 2013 and was also picked to the All-EuroCup first team in the 2014-15 season.
