Khimki Firing On All Cylinders 30  november  2015

VTB United League
Khimki Moscow Region defeated Enisey Krasnoyarsk at home, 108-92. Rimas Kurtinaitis's men grabbed a double-digit lead in the first half and never let Enisey threaten, cruising to their 7th win of the season.
Recap
Leading up to Sunday's game, Khimki had lost twice in a row: UNICS in the VTB United League and Bayern Munich in the Euroleague. The frontcourt was also depleted with both Paul Davis and Ruslan Pateev out with injuries.

Despite a sub-.500 record, Enisey entered with a two-game winning streak. Krasnoyarsk had also won the most recent meeting between the two clubs, knocking off Khimki last spring on the road.

Enisey got off to a strong start, led by Denis Zakharov's perimeter offense. But the visitors struggled to match Khimki's tempo, especially the Yellow-Blue backcourt of Tyrese Rice and Alexey Shved, who combined for 18 points and 12 assists in the first half. Khimki's bench was also effective, outscoring Enisey's bench, 28-4. At halftime, Khimki enjoyed a 12-point advantage, 65-53.

Sergey Monia sparked Khimki to start the 3rd quarter, pushing the lead to 20 points. Enisey cut the deficit to 10, but never got any closer. Khimki's offense was simply too efficient, cracking the century mark midway through the 4th quarter on the way to a comfortable 16-point win.

Star Player
Alexey Shved. Shved played one of his best games this season, scoring an efficient 17 points on 4-7 shooting to go with nine assists, three rebounds, three steals and one block.

Stat of the Game
108 — Khimki finished with 108 points, the 4th-most points in the league this season.

Khimki head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis:
— I'm happy that we got back to playing with a lot of energy, even though we made a lot of mistakes, especially passing the ball. I was happy that we managed to apply full-court pressure for 40 minutes. We put something together today. We didn't struggle as much. We scored a lot of points, but we also gave up a lot.

Enisey head coach Oleg Okulov:
— Unfortunately, not everything worked out for us today, especially on defense. At the same time, we did score a lot of points. Spiridonov and Vzdykhalkin are injured. We depend on them and we don't have the same depth on our bench that top teams do. Another key player, Kennedy, also got injured. You can see the score. We're going to analyze our mistakes and keep working.
