Strasbourg lands Diot, extends Toupane 2  july  2013

Strasbourg Basket improved its backcourt by inking combo guard Antoine Diot to a two-year deal, the club announced Monday. Diot (1.91 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Paris-Levallois, where he averaged 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals in 30 French League games last season.
Diot started his career with Bourg Basket, joined INSEP soon after that and played for Le Mans from 2007 to 2012 before joining Paris-Levallois. He helped Le Mans to win the Semaine des As and the French Cup titles in 2009. Diot added another French Cup title with Paris last season. He is also a regular member of the French national team. Diot helped France to win gold medals at the 2004 U16 European Championships and the 2006 U18 European Championships. He also led France to a bronze medal at the 2007 FIBA U19 World Championships and to silver at the 2009 U20 European Championships. "I am very happy to sign for Strasboutg, a club that has proven its longevity in the French League," Diot said. "I am excited with the chance to take Strasbourg to the Euroleague and I am sure we can do some great things together in the next two seasons."

Strasbourg also reached a new agreement withsmall forward Axel Toupane to stay together until the end of the 2014-15 season. Toupane (2.00 meters, 20 years old) averaged 3.9 points and 1.9 rebounds in 35 French League games last season. he He helped Strasbourg to make it to the French League and the French Cup titles. Toupane started his career with Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez but joined Strasbourg in summer 2009. He has also been a member of the French U18 and U20 national teams. he helped France to win a bronze medal at the 2011 U20 European Championships and reach silver at the 2012 U20 European Championships.
