Khimky destroyed Budivelnyk making a huge step forward to third Qualifying Round. Next stage is now 'mission impossible' for the Ukrainian squad. Keith Langford (193-G/F-83, college: Kansas) came up with 16 points for Khimky and he spent just 20 minutes on the court. Thomas Kelati (195-G/F-82, agency: Beo Basket, college: Washington St.) and Kresimir Loncar (210-F-83) scored 11 points each, while Zoran Planinic (199-G-82) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Dewarick Spencer (193-G-82, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: Arkansas St.) responded with 14 points on the other side. Michailis Anisimovas (214-C-84) and Andrew Betts (216-C-77, college: Long Beach St.) stopped to 9 pts apiece.
Khimky was simply too strong for Budivelnyk in this game. Visitors dominated in all basketball segments having no troubles to take the comfortable victory. Khimky started with quick 5-11 and later grabbed 10-21 lead after ten minutes. They were keeping double-digit advantage during the entire second quarter setting the HT score to 28-39. Question about the winner is decided at the beginning of Q3. Zoran Planinic and Fridzon lifted Khimky to 28-44, when Andrew Betts and Zach Morley tried to change things with back-to-back tips-in. However, Fridzon, Eze and a huge triple by Thomas Kelati made Budivelnik call timeout at 32-51. Later, Khimky entered to the last ten minutes with 43-63. The final period belonged to Russians as well, who are taking home huge 58-87 for the second meeting.
