Fan Mail: Sergio Scariolo 23  november  2009

Of four teams making their Euroleague debuts this season, BC Khimiki Moscow Region has more victories than the other three combined and is tied for first place in its group. But to call Khimki a rookie is a bit misleading, mainly because of its man on the bench, Sergio Scariolo, the first head coach Fan Mail guest of the 2009-10 season on Euroleague.net. One of Europe's most successful coaches, Scariolo joined Khimki midway through last season and promptly led his new team to both the Eurocup and Russian League finals. Neither was a surprise. Scariolo was already the only head coach ever to win domestic titles in both Spain and his native Italy. Then, over the summer, he added a gold medal to his list of accomplishments by guiding the Spanish national team to its first European championship. Now, Scariolo is trying to make Khimki, a club that is only 12 years old, a lasting presence among the Euroleague's elite. As both a student of the game and a master coach, Scariolo this week offers Euroleague fans a chance to talk with a true expert. You can take that opportunity by sending your Fan Mail questions now. Coach Scariolo will answer the best of your questions next week. Take another chance to talk with the stars right here on Euroleague.net!
