Boungou Colo: I'm honored signing with Khimki 2 september 2016

French forward Nobel Boungou Colo commented upon his signing with our club and told us about his impressions and expectations from new country, new league and playing under coach Ivanovic.

Boungou Colo never played outside France and signing with BC Khimki is a new challenge for him. Four last seasons he played for French powerhouse Limoges CSP, where he was one of the leaders. Last season in French League he averaged 13.8 pts, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.8 steals in 32 minutes, and his average efficiency was 14.5. In EuroLeague he played 10 games and brought to the team 8.6 pts, 3.1 rebounds and 3 assists in 26.7 minutes. After game 10 of the regular season Boungou Colo was named EuroLeague MVP as in the away game vs. EA7 Emporio Armani Milan he scored 21 pts, grabbed 8 rebounds, made 3 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals wheres his efficiency was the highest in the round 10 – 34.

Boungou Colo told our website about his goals with BC Khimki.

"I am ready to compete in the EuroCup and I can't wait to start playing for BC khimki, — he said. — My goals for the season are to reach the goals of the team and personally to be efficient for the squad. I won two championships with Limoges and never left France and I need a new challenge and new experience. I want to reach the highest level of basketball I can before my career is over, and BC Khimki is a good European team that can give me what I need".

"To play for a big team like BC Khimki is really exciting, — he added. — Having an opportunity to play in Russia in the VTB League and the EuroCup with a big team like BC Khimki is a big step in my career".

Also Nobel told us about his experience of playing against BC Khimki and the time he spent with Limoges.

"I played in Khimki gym with Limoges CSP in the 2014/2015 Eurocup and it was a great experience here in Moscow. Now I’m not a Limoges player and it’s a big change for me. I need to take my marks for a good season. Last four seasons I was a Limoges player and we won two championships. We played in the EuroLeague two times and in the EuroCup. My first experience in these two tournaments was in the very team, Limoges. It was not so easy because there are many offensive teams in the EuroLeague and EuroCup. But it was good and now I continue my story with the EuroCup in BC Khimki jersey. Playing in Limoges allowed me to make a new step in my career".

The Frenchman spoke upon his first steps in basketball.

"I started playing basketball a little bit late at the age of 15. It happened in Paris. Every year I tried to improve and match a new level. I have practiced a lot until now and I have a chance to play in Russia that is good for me”.

Boungou Colo revealed his attitude towards coach Ivanovic and his expectations about playing under his guidance.

"Coach Dusko Ivanovic is a great coach who coached Limoges, the team I came from. I’m really lucky that Ivanovic wanted to sign me. I remember the first time when I won championship with Limoges in the summer he called me and showed his interest to sign with Panathinaikos. After I stayed in Limoges two seasons more I had a call from my agent who told me that Dusko wanted to sign me again. And I’m happy about it. I'm glad that this year we finally got to do this. I am looking forward to working and playing for BC Khimki and coach Dusko Ivanovic. I'm really honored".

BC Khimki novice said he knows some players of our team.

"Of course, I know Alexey Shved as he’s a very famous player. In addition, I can say some words about Sergey Monya. I know the names of the players but I never played with them. With Limoges, I played against some of them. So now, we are in the same team. And I look forward to training with them".

Finally, Boungou Colo told us upon his expectations about life in Russia.

"A lot of people told me about cold in Russia. When I came here with Limoges it was winter outside and it was cold. But I’m not a man who is walking every time in the street so it’s okay for me. Of course, it’s a big change comparing with France, it’s a new country but I came here for basketball. I think if everything is good with basketball, I will enjoy my staying here. No problem".
