BC Khimki signed with Josh Boone13 january 2016

BC Khimki has signed a contract with US center, ex-New Jersey Nets player, who started 2015-2016 season in BC Kalev (Estonia) Josh Boone. The contract was agreed to the end of this season.

Pavel Astakhov, BC Khimki General Manager:

“In view of Davis’s injury we needed to strengthen our roster with a big man who can play fourth and fifth positions. Taking into account our solid schedule, it’s hard to play 30 and 35 minutes for Augustine although Sokolov helps us a lot. Having examined several number of candidatures, along with coaching staff we decided to choose Josh Boone. He has NBA experience and has played well in Estonian Kalev so far. We hope he’ll help us to achieve our goals”.

Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:

“Josh Boone is an experienced player, and despite his age of 31 years old he is quick and mobile. In addition, he is a perfect rebounder. I mean, he is a good athlete. Boone has good stats as he exercised the NBA school and played there well. He is averaging 11.5 rebounds and 4 rebounds in the offense that is the very position we needed to improve. This is especially important, as Paul Davis is still injured. Moreover, Augustine plays for 30 minutes and more and sometimes he needs to be replaced. It’s good that we signed Sokolov a month ago. So now we are strengthening our frontcourt and we’ll try to regulate time among all players”.
