E.J. Rowland: We have high level potential30 august 2016

Earl Rowland reveals his expectations of playing with BC Khimki in both VTB League and the EuroCup and says about his feelings after signing with our club.

Rowland is only 33 but he has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia and America). He has duo citizenship: American and Bulgarian that gave him opportunity to play at 2009 and 2011 Eurobasket. Last season he played in Hapoel Jerusalem in Israeli Basketball Super League. In 40 games he averaged 11.7 pts, 3.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.5 steals. He helped the team to win the regular season and make it to the final. Rowland also played 16 games in the EuroCup where he recorded very impressive stats: 15.2 pts, 2.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.2 steals. He was in Khimki several times: in 2013 with VEF-Riga and in 2015 with Banvit. In his previous team he was one of the leaders. VTB League has already explained, why Rowland's return is a huge step and success. Buy the was, in season 2012/2013 he clinched the VTB League MVP award and became the first and only player in League history to average 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists in one season.

Rowland remembers the time he played against BC Khimki.

"I've played against Khimki in the VTB League and a couple of years ago in the EuroCup play-offs, — E.J. said. — They have consistently been a strong team. The VTB League and the EuroCup are supposed to be tough this year. I think we have high level potential in both leagues once everyone gets on the same page. I'm very excited and ready to get started with the new team".

He also told our website about his feelings after signing contract with the club.

"After considering everything, this was the best decision for me, — Rowland added. — Khimki is one of the teams that are expected to win. I'll do my best to blend with the team and accomplish that. The organization and the coach are very respected. I'm thankful for the opportunity".
