BC Khimki signed a three-year deal with the former FC Barcelona player, 23-year-old power forward/center Marko Todorovic, who played last season in Bilbao Basket (ACB, Spain).
Pavel Astakhov, BC Khimki General manager:
– Todorovic is a young and promising player, who played in Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona and successfully spent last season in Bilbao Basket. Despite his age, Marko plays on rebounding well, he has good sense of his team-mates and sees the court perfect. He has great potential as he was selected at the 2013 NBA draft. Hopefully in BC Khimki Marko will grow as one of the best big men in Europe and bring the maximum benefit to our club.
Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:
– We signed a young player who has high goals, including playing in the NBA. Last season he spent in the Spanish club Bilbao Basket, where he was one of the leading players. After his performance in the Spanish championship he has enough skills, although, of course, there is still some work to do. I think in our club he will add to these components, where he currently has a small gap. Marko is a tall guy with a good throw, he plays great on pick and rolls and may close positions four and five. In our team we need to combine experience and youth, and Todorovic is one of those young players who will give BC Khimki the necessary energy. I think it's a good signing for the club.
