Daniel Ewing returns to Khimki23 july 2007

The Moscow Region club signed a two years contract with the American guard Daniel Ewing. A 23-years player after graduating the university was drafted by Los-Angeles Clippers, where he spent two seasons. Less than one year Daniel visited our country in the context of NBA Live Tour, has met his future teammates and gave a master class for young sportsmen in Khimki Basketball Center.

George Daniel Ewing, Jr was born on 26th of March in 1986 in Milton. He attended Willowridge High School in Missouri City, Texas. After it he had entered the University “Duke” one is the best college in terms of basketball training. Its team is headed by legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski.

The first his year Ewing played for the McDonald’s All-America Team-2001. Daniel was named the Houston Athletic Committee’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2001. He averaged 11.6 points, 2.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 138 games over his four-year collegiate career. He earned All-ACC Freshman Honorable Mention honors, the Honorable Mention ACC All-Defensive Team member and was included in different symbolical teams. Ewing was named the Division final MVP.

For the University period he earned an Academic Excellence Award and his school’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
After the graduating Daniel was selected in the draft by Los-Angeles Clippers in a second round (the 32nd overall pick in the draft). He signed a two years contract and after the expiry of it he became a free agent. He faced his future teammates in the historical match NBA EUROPE Live Tour BC Khimki — Los-Angels Clippers, and his 7 points were determining the victory of the American team.
