POST-GAME QUOTES

Igor Grishchuk, Tsmoki-Minsk head coach:

"We tried to battle and it worked for us over the first 20 minutes, in my opinion. Our main problem was on our glass, where our opponent grabbed 15 boards. We also played without our starting center, who was sick. You could tell we missed him. Congratulations to Khimki on the win".

Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:

"I'm happy, like always, that we won, since we should take care of business at home. I expected this game would go a little differently. I mean more physical defense and aggressive offense. That didn't really happen for three quarters, since the guys feel like they are better one-on-one and don't give 100%. It was a problem. But we won and that's most important.

Paul Davis isn't completely healthy yet. He's not ready to play at these speeds yet. I thought I'd let him play 20-25 minutes, since we need to get him ready, but he doesn't have enough energy yet. But Pateev is really helping us. He's giving us the aggression we need on defense. I'm pleasantly surprised by how he's progressing and the level he's playing on. Right now Pateev is our starting center. I'm happy that we've been able to develop such a good player over two years".
