POST-GAME QUOTES

Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:

— Today's game was big for us, no matter who the opponent was going to be. The first games are always tough, which we could feel in the first quarter. The players felt some pressure and apprehension, before they started running and began to trust themselves. We played alright, but there were a lot of slip-ups, both mistakes and defensive rebounding. We played a lot of guys, but we've got problems with the roster already. Three players are injured. Popovic managed to play, though, even though he was in bed with a fever for three days. We deserved to win and I'm happy that we started the season on a positive note.

Vladimir Antsiferov, Avtodor head coach:

— The game was interesting for the fans. There were some great moments and upsetting mistakes both on defense and on offense. So far we don't have enough experience. Our shooting percentage also let us down. Our opponent took advantage of those mistakes on defense. Fortson, as well as Klimenko, who has a nice mid-range jumper, could have played better today. But Klimenko didn't use it today.
