Eurocup. BC Khimki vs. VEF-Riga22 november 2011

In its first Eurocup 2011/2012 home game BC Khimki scored a confident victory over old acquaintance VEF Riga — 90-70 (26-20, 25-24, 21-12, 18-14). On Friday, November 25, our team will face BEKO PBL debutant Spartak-Primorye Vladivostok. The beginning of the meeting is at 20.00 msk.

— I would like to congratulate my players on this victory. Today we played smart, fast and I think the spectators liked the game. VEF is an ambitious team and I would like the Latvian team qualify next round. The second game we give the time to all the players. The season has just started, we must think about the future and not overwork our leaders.

— Khimki is a very strong team. They played better us. In first half we could keep our plan, and in third quarter our opponent destroyed our game. I think Khimki is a first pretender to win this tournament and I wish it my friend – Rimas Kurtinaitis.
