Continental champion Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul added a reigning All-EuroLeague selection to its roster for the second time this summer when it signed point guard Brad Wanamaker on Thursday to a one-year contract.
In just his second season in the competition, Wanamaker (1.93 meters, 27 years old) led Darussafaka Istanbul to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs last spring with averages of 16.7 points, 4.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He ranked second in the league in steals and fourth in both scoring and average performance index rating (17.6). Wanamaker played the two prior seasons in Germany for Brose Bamberg, with which he made his EuroLeague debut. He led Bamberg team to back-to-back German League titles, being named MVP of the domestic finals in 2015 and MVP of the regular season the following year. Wanamaker started his professional career with Barca Tercas Teramo of Italy and has also played for Forli and Georgio Tesi Group Pistoia in Italy, Austin of the D-League and Limoges CSP in France. He helped Austin win the D-League title in 2012 and lifted the French SuperCup trophy with Limoges in 2013. He joins his former Bamberg teammate Nicolo Melli as All-EuroLeague selections to sign with Fenerbahce this summer.
