Veideman leaving for Italy 14  march  2017

BC Kalev
BC Kalev/Cramo received notice of wishing to terminate the contract of Rain Veideman during the weekend so the player could join Udine APU GSA in Italy Serie B.
Udine who plays in the eastern division is at the tenth spot from 16 teams currently and only top 8 make the play-offs. There are seven games remaining til the end of regular season. After getting big losses in the last rounds and losing Allan Ray to an injury, the club put their eyes on Rain Veideman.

BC Kalev/Cramo managed Kaarel Sibul admitted that the notice was a really bad surprise while adding: “Honestly, I am a little bit of confused by the actions of the player and his agent. Veideman agreed to pay off his hefty termination fee but left his team-mates in a rather bad situation due to the fact that his leaving happened after the registration window in Estonia was closed.”

Head coach Alar Varrak was also not overly happy of the situation: ” We’re now in a quite bad situation because Rain had been one of our key players and we need to change our game quite a lot. Which is bad because important BBL and VTB games are just around the corner.”
