Reigning Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul reloaded its frontcourt by signing Jason Thompson for the coming season.
Thompson (2.11 meters, 31 years old) spent the past season with Shandong Golden Stars in China, where he averaged 18.7 points and 13.9 rebounds in 40 games. Before that, he played his entire professional career in the NBA, totaling seven seasons with Sacramento and half a season each with Golden State and Toronto. In that period, he averaged 8.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 588 games. Fenerbahce will be Thompson’s first club in Europe, however his younger brother, Ryan Thompson, played one season in the EuroLeague with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade and competed in the EuroCup with Telenet Ostend, Brose Baskets and Trabzonspor Medical Park.
