Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul announced the signing of point guard Mehmet Yagmur for the coming season.
Yagmur (1.88 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Darussafaka Istanbul, where he played the last three seasons. He saw limited playing time in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague last season, averaging 0.3 points in 12 games. Yagmur has played in his home country, Turkey, for his entire career. He debuted with Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir and has also played for Besiktas Istanbul, Tofas Bursa, Turk Telekom Ankara and Olin Edirne Basketball. Yagmur helped Besiktas win three titles — the Turkish League, Turkish Cup and EuroChallenge — in the 2011-12 season. He has been a member of the Turkish national team, and helped its U18 squad win respective silver medals at the 2004 and 2005 European Championships.
