After six seasons together, Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade and swingman Branko Lazic have signed on for two more.
The team also announced that Lazic (1.94 meters, 28 years old), who is the longest-tenured player with the team, will serve as the team's new captain. Lazic is considered to be among the premier perimeter defenders in Europe. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 30 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague appearances last season. Lazic also ranked fifth in the competition with 1.4 steals per game. And he posted 5.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals in the Adriatic League. During his six years with the club, Lazic has helped Zvezda to three Adriatic League championships, three Serbian League crowns and four Serbian Cups. He previously played with FMP Zeleznik, where he started his professional career before first signing with Zvezda in 2011.
