EuroLeague
CSKA Moscow bolstered its frontcourt by signing center Othello Hunter to a two-year deal.
Hunter (2.03 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Real Madrid, where he averaged 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 35 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games off the bench last season, while ranking sixth overall in two-point shooting percentage (65.5%). He helped Madrid win the Spanish Copa del Rey title and reach the EuroLeague Final Four. Hunter had joined Madrid from Olympiacos Piraeus, with which he reached the EuroLeague championship game in 2015 and won Greek League titles in 2015 and 2016. "It is obvious that last three years Hunter is playing on highest level, he was a part of Olympiacos and Real Madrid teams that were in chase for Final Four spot and played there, he was an important piece of the puzzle", CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis said. "We were looking for another big man who, together with Kyle, will bring athleticism, defense, rebounding and ability to run transitions. Othello has wish and determination to be a part of winning team. I know that he had plenty of offers but decided to come to Moscow. So we are looking forward to work together."

Hunter started his career with Atlanta of the NBA and also played for Anaheim of the D-League, Ilysiakos Athens of Greece, Dinamo Sassari and Montepaschi Siena of Italy, Shandong Flaming Bulls and Jiangsu Tongxi of China, Azovmash Mariupol of Ukraine and Baloncesto Valladolid of Spain before joining Olympiacos. Hunter was a college basketball standout with the Ohio State University, which he helped reach the NCAA Tournament final in 2007. He has averaged 8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 96 EuroLeague career games with Siena, Olympiacos and Madrid.
