Pavel Antipov transfers to Lokomotiv 8  july  2017

PBC Lokomotiv Kuban
Lokomotiv Kuban signed a 2-year agreement with Pavel Antipov. The 25-year old forward has been playing for UNICS for five years with a break in the 2015/16 season when he played for Zenit. Lokonation welcomes the other newcomer!
Pavel Antipov used to play for CSK VVS Samara, Spartak St. Petersburg, BC Nizhny Novgorod, Zenit St. Petersburg, and UNICS Kazan. Antipov won the World Student Games in 2013 and the Russian Cup in the 2013/14 season. He also reached the finals of EuroCup in the same season, but Kazan failed to defeat Valencia.

Alexey Savrasenko, General Manager of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban:

— We followed Antipov’s progress last season. And we believe there are a few Russian players of his level on the position. Pavel has a killer instinct. I’m sure he will perfectly match Obradovic’s playing schemes and be very helpful for Lokomotiv.

Sasa Obradovic, Head Coach of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban:

— Pavel is a young player but he is already experienced in playing in top-level tournaments and under management of good coaches. At the same time, I’m sure he hasn’t unlocked his potential. We plan to use Antipov in two positions – power forward and swingman. He shoots nice from downtown but we are going to work more on his playing under the rim.

Pavel Antipov, Forward of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban:

— Moving to Krasnodar is a very serious challenge for me. Lokomotiv Kuban is a team with top-level ambitions and I’m grateful to the management of Loko for the chance and the opportunity to work with the coach Sasa Obradovic. Looking forward to a start of the season!

Welcome to Krasnodar Pavel!
