Loko beaten by Khimki 24  october  2016

PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban
In the second round of the VTB United League championships of the 2016/17 season, Lokomotiv Kuban was beaten by Khimki in an away game. The most effective players of Loko were Ian Vougioukas with 15 points and Taylor Rochestie with 13 points. Fotis Katsikaris’s team will play next game at home on October 26th vs. Ulm within EuroCup.
Andrey Zubkov, Forward of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban:

— It was a very tough game for both us and our rival. Both teams suffered a defeat in their first games and tried to make a come-back. For a half an hour we played well, but there were too many turnovers in the last quarter. As a result, we got what we got. We missed too many opens, and it resulted in a defeat. I wouldn’t justify us that we are a new team. We had two months to get used to each other. We played well, but something went wrong and failed. At some point, a lack of concentration played its role.

Fotis Katsikaris, Head Coach of PBC Lokomotiv Kuban:

— We had five days to recover mentally and physically. We have to improve our playing. We had many opens, and they were shot by snipers, but we missed many of them. In the second quarter we played well and led. In the third quarter, it was equal game, but in the end of the quarter we made a few mistakes in a row. As a result the rival got 5 points of advantage that meant a lot. Little details turned out to be crucial. We have to work, to fight for each ball, for each moment, for each rebound. We must not lose confidence. Two defeats are not something they expect from us. I want to see the team’s spirit.
