He's the reigning Eurocup MVP and a former Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four MVP. Now Khimki Moscow Region guard Tyrese Rice is the Euroleague MVP of the Week, too. Rice claimed the honor for Round 5 of the Top 16 after leading Khimki to a 111-80 victory over Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday with a performance index rating of 35, which was the highest among all players in the week's games.
Rice amassed 20 points on 5-of-8 three-point shooting plus 11 assists. He also made 5 of 6 free throws and collected 2 steals in setting a career-high in index rating and leading Khimki to a new club record for scoring. CSKA Moscow's star guard Nando De Colo returned after a two-game absence to post a PIR of 28 in a 91-70 victory over Brose Baskets Bamberg. He tallied 19 point on 5-of-7 two-point shooting and 2-of-3 from downtown plus 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. De Colo leads all players in average index rating this season with 23.1 per game. Two more players had index ratings of 28, both in Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz's 78-81 overtime road win in an all-Spanish clash against FC Barcelona Lassa. Ioannis Bourousis of Laboral collected 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, while Barcelona's Alex Abrines netted 21 points with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 7 drawn fouls to reach a 28 index rating, as well. Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul pushed Panathinaikos Athens to the limit before losing 82-79 in the Greek capital. Its two stars for the night, Jamon Gordon and Luke Harangody, tied for the fifth-highest index ratings for the week, 26. Gordon netted career-high 26 points, and also added 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals to his tally, while Harangody had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Jamon Gordon led all scorers this week with his career-high effort of 26 points in Darussafaka's defeat in Athens. After scoring 19 points in his return from injury, Nando De Colo remains this season’s No. 1 scorer with an average of 19.1 points per game. Othello Hunter of Olympiacos Piraeus led all rebounders in Top 16 Round 5 with 11 in the losing effort against Real Madrid. Laboral's Bourousis remains Euroleague's rebounding leader, with his average of 9 rebounds per game. Rice dished 11 assists, the most of any player this week. Thomas Heurtel of Anadolu Efes Istanbul leads all players with 7.8 assists per contest this season. His Efes teammate Cedi Osman was the only player in Round 5 with 4 steals, which was also Osman's personal best. Panathinaikos Athens playmaker Nick Calathes is the Euroleague steals leader for the season with 2.1 per game. Fenerbahce big man Ekpe Udoh matched his season high with 4 blocks and now leads all players with 1.85 blocks per game for the season. Rice was one of four players who collected double-doubles this week, but the only one who did so with points (20) and assists (11). Other double-double efforts have come from Victor Claver (15 points, 10 rebounds) of Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, Gustavo Ayon (11 points, 10 rebounds) of Real Madrid, and Hunter of Olympiacos (14 points, 11 rebounds).
