CSKA Moscow completed another masterful run to win the VTB United League for the fourth consecutive season. CSKA rousted Khimki Moscow Region 69-99 Monday to complete a three-game sweep of their finals series. Sasha Kaun scored 18 points on 8-of-9 free throw shooting, while Milos Teodosic added 13 points and 6 assists, Nando De Colo also scored 13, Aaron Jackson totaled 12 points and 8 assists and Victor Khryapa shined with 8 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks. All 12 CSKA players scored as the visitors outscored Khimki by at least 8 points in each of the first three quarters and by 5 in the fourth. CSKA cruised on the road despite committing 16 turnovers thanks to its dominance on the glass; CSKA outrebounded Khimki 23-37. Paul Davis led Khimki with 20 points and Sergey Monya added 13 in defeat.
Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade edged Mega Leks 89-90 to win their semifinals series 2-0 and secure a berth in the Serbian League finals. Nikola Kalinic scored 24 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting and Marcus Williams added 17 points for the winners. All-Euroleague center Boban Marjanovic contributed 15 points and 2 blocks and Luka Mitrovic collected 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Mega Leka held a slim 42-40 halftime lead and boosted that to 63-53 late in the third quarter. Kalinic and Williams carried the visitors back into the game and the Zvezda defense held the hosts scoreless for the final three minutes. Mitrovic scored the go-ahead free throws with a minute remaining and though Mega Leks’s Marko Keselj had a three-point shot to win it in the closing seconds, he missed. Nikola Jokic paced Mega Leks with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Nenad Miljenovic added 15 points and 6 assists in defeat.

Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem is one win away from the Israeli League finals after edging Maccabi Rishon Lezion 75-76 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinals. Donta Smith starred with 25 points on 4-of-6 three-point shooting and Deon Thompson added 13 for the winners. Jerusalem held Rishon to just 9 second-quarter points to take a 30-42 halftime lead. Rishon closed to within 5 before Jerusalem restocked its lad at 40-56 and went into the fourth quarter leading by 16. Rishon used a 9-0 run to get back in the back in the game behind Shawn Dawson and Jackie Carmichael and the former’s block of Yotam Halperin in the closing seconds gave Rishon a shot to win the game, but Isaiah Swann missed at the buzzer. Dawson finished with 24 points and Carmichael added 18 points and 13 rebounds in defeat.

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan forced a decisive seventh game in the Italian league semifinals by beating Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari 67-74 on Monday. Alessandro Gentile scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Samardo Samuels posted 18 points and 10 boards and MarShon Brooks also scored 18 for the winners. Sassari started strong and stormed out to a promising 17-8 advantage after 10 minutes. Samuels brought Milan within 20-17, but an 11-0 Sassari response left the hosts ahead 36-29 at halftime. Milan used 9 unanswered points to claim a 38-41 lead midway through the third quarter and it was tied at 49-49 late in that quarter, but Milan scored the final 5 points of the third, the first 4 points of the fourth and eventually built the lead up to 14. Sassari never got closer than 6 the rest of the way. Shane Lawal led Sassari with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 steals and Edgar Sosa added 13 points in defeat.
