FC Bayern Munich reached an agreement with power forward Maxi Kleber to work together until the end of the 2016-17 season, the club announced Wednesday. Bayern keeps an option to extend his deal for another year.
Kleber (2.07 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro, where he averaged 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 33 Spanish League games last season. He started his career with Wuerzburg Baskets in his native Germany and joined Obradoiro before the start of last season. Kleber is also a member of the German national team.

"After an encouraging season in Spain, I hope to make it to the next level," Kleber said. "I am looking forward to playing in a top club like Bayern. I want to bring my game to the next level by playing for Stevislav Pesic, with the help of his coaching staff, and also playing in such a strong competition as the Euroleague. I also want to bring the German League championship back to Munich."
