Khimki guard Alexey Shved has been named the VTB United League's top Russian player in December, winning the award for the second consecutive month.
This is the fourth season that the VTB United League will honor the top players from each league nation, with the 2015-16 award winners to be announced at the end of the regular season.
An expert panel appointed by the VTB United League will determine the winners in the seven league nations represented by one club (Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Finland and Georgia). The top player in Russia, represented by nine clubs, will be determined by league experts and media partner TASS. The results from each month of the regular season will also be factored into the selection.
Khimki guard Alexey Shved picks up the award for the third month of the season. Khimki went 4-0 in December and Shved played like a leader, averaging 18.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 20.0 efficiency rating per game.
Joining Shved in December's Top 3, as selected by the VTB United League and TASS, are CSKA forward Nikita Kurbanov and Nizhny Novgorod forward Semen Antonov.
Nizhny Novgorod guard Maxim Grigoryev won the award in October, while Shved picked up his first honor in November.
