German U20 National Team victoriously capped their Turgut Atakol Tournament campaign. They overcame Polish counterparts in the final game in Istanbul. Ismet Akpinar (192-PG-95, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 17 points for the winning side.
Poland eked out a 16:12 lead ten minutes into the encounter. Poland stayed in front throughout the second term. They established a 32:26 halftime lead. Germany tied things up at 38 midway through the third term but Germany quickly restored the lead and entered the fourth quarter up by 10 points 50:40. Germany used a 10:1 run in the final frame to gain a 59:57 lead. Ismet Akpinar and Kevin Bryant (194-SG-94) sank late points to seal the win for Germany. Maximilian Ugrai (202-SF-95), Kevin Bryant and Robin Jorch (208-PF-94) delivered 7 points each for the winning side. Mikolaj Witlinski (207-F/C-95) answered with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Poland. Jakub Garbacz (197-G/F-94) produced 10 points in the loss.
