Unicaja Malaga added to its frontcourt by signing athletic power forward Nik Caner-Medley, who made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut last season with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv. Caner-Medley (2.03 meters, 29 years old) averaged 4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 24 Israeli League contests with Maccabi.
He produced 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds in Israeli League games. Before joining Maccabi, Caner-Medley had a breakout campaign with Valencia Basket, with whom he earned 2012 All-Eurocup First team honors. He helped the club reach that season’s Eurocup title game against Khimki Moscow Region in which he tallied game-highs of 23 points, 11 rebounds and 38 performance index rating, which tied the record for highest index in a Eurocup title game.

Caner-Medley previously played for Asefa Estudiantes, Cajasol Seville and Gran Canaria in Spain as well as Artland Dragons in Germany. Among his other career highlights are being named to the All-Eurocup Second Team and the 2010-11 All-Spanish League first team in the 2010-11 season. He collected his first team title in Europe last season by raising the Israeli Cup with Maccabi.
