American-Greek point guard Nick Calathes (198-PG-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Lokomotiv, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, seven rebounds and eight assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Tsmoki-Minsk (#10, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 89-74. Lokomotiv maintains the 7th position in VTB United League . Lokomotiv is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Calathes had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Lokomotiv's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Florida star has very solid stats this year. Calathes is in league's top in points (2nd best: 17.7ppg), assists (8th best: 4.7apg) and averages impressive 65.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American David Jackson (193-G-86) of PGE Turow. Jackson had a very good evening with 23 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as PGE Turow lost that game 66-76 to Azovmash (1-2). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Jackson is one of the most experienced players at PGE Turow and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.7ppg (#4).

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Evgeny Valiev (205-F-90, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) of Triumph (#6). Valiev scored 11 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was a key player of Triumph, leading his team to a 89-52 easy win against CEZ Nymburk (1-2). The chances of Triumph not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Valiev could try to bring Triumph's a little bit higher in the standings. Valiev has a very solid season. In 3 games in VTB United League he scored 8.3ppg.
