The Kazan UNICS overcoming a deep February crisis, begin to revive. Kazan team got to the Final Four in March, ending the regular season with away victories over the strong Krasnye Krylia and Zalgiris and keeping the final first place in Group A. Belarusian forward Vladimir Veremeenko in these games was the most prominent figure on the court, who eventually was named MVP of the month.
— I don’t know, but VTB United League is the tournament where UNICS plays the best, — reacted Veremeenko to congratulations with the prize for «Most valuable player» in March. – At the same time I don’t agree with those, who say our foreign players slack their work in the Russian championship. UNICS has a goal to proceed to Final Four in all tournaments. Yes, we are in very difficult tournament situation in PBL. In Euroleague we are close to get sacked. But we will fight till the end. Everywhere.

— How fair is that in VTB United League play-off there are clubs only from Russia and Lithuania?
— I think it all happened as it had to. League’s level is very high. It’s possible, that in Final Four will play three Eurolegue participants – we, CSKA and Zalgiris. And look, how much teams represent VTB United League in the Eurocup playoff – five out of eight! So winning this title is very prestigious.

— As opposed to other leaders of UNICS you didn’t perform worse than very high fixed level even in times of team’s recession. And in previous season, which ended with winning the cup of Europe, you played really great! How can you be so stable?
— I don’t know, don’t know, I don’t single myself out against a background. Being recognized as an MVP of VTB United League in March is huge surprise. Talking about stability… You know, I always try to do my best. I just can’t slack my work. And I shouldn’t judge how good it comes out. The main thing is injuries to leave me alone. But I have problems with this. At the moment I am just getting shape after another injury. I hope I’ll be in good shape to play the end of the season.

— Can we state, that UNICS’s recession is over and the team won’t show lines of a five losses in a row, like it did between February and March?
— Yes, we’ve found our game. But I wouldn’t say, that crisis, you speak about, was that deep. Many times we just had bad luck. But it couldn’t last forever. And now the destiny repays. And team’s conditions are close to optimal. I wish we won’t lose concentration on last minutes of matches. And in third quarters. We often failed in them. After the big break the team came out absent-minded and rivals punished us for that. But conclusions are drawn. And now it all should go the other way.
