Petr Samoylenko (185-G-77) extended with Unics for another two years. Kazan remains the home city for the Russian Guard.
In 1998 he started for Unics and stayed until year 2007. In 2007-2008 moved to Dynamo Moscow (A Superleague, starting five) and in ULEB Cup after 13 games averaged 3.0ppg, 1.6rpg, 3.1apg, while in Russian League had 3.1ppg, 1.8rpg, 3.5apg, 1.2spg. In 2008-2009 started for Dynamo, but left at the beginning of the season, then moved to Unics Kazan (A Superleague, starting five). In Russian League he had 2.7ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.9apg, 1.3spg, while in Eurocup after 11 games showed 2.9ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.1apg, 1.5spg. The latest season for Unics Kazan (PBL) in EuroCup he had 2.1ppg, 1.6rpg, 2.1apg, 1.0spg, while in VTB League after 12 games he showed 3.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 2.3apg. In Euroleague Qualifying Round his stats read 3.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.3apg and in Russian League Petr averaged 5.0ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.6apg, 1.1spg, FGP: 55.7%, 3PT: 35.4%, FT: 70.6%.
This season Petr Samoylenko recorded 20 points at the Quarter-Finals Round 3 when Unics beat N.Novgorod 93-66. The game was mostly controlled by Unics Kazan. BC Nizhny Novgorod was better in third quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics Kazan made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The former international guard Petr Samoylenko contributed with 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners.

Montepaschi Siena added to their roster 23-year old American forward DaJuan Summers (203-F-88, college: Georgetown). Summers played most recently at Detroit Pistons (NBA) in the U.S. While playing 20 games for Detroit P. last season he averaged 3.7ppg. He is a free agent after first pro season and due to the NBA lockout, he prefers to get granted contract for 11-12 instead of betting on the NBA season to start on time.

Anton Ponkrashov (200-G-86, agency: RIZO) officially in CSKA. Anton Ponkrashov played for the Moscow powerhouse back in 2006/07 and 2009/10 seasons. Last season Anton Anton Ponkrashov spent in Spartak Saint Petersburg. He averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 assists, 2.6 boards and 1.3 steals per game in PBL. In EuroChallenge the guard delivered 10.4 points, 5.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per appearance. Eurobasket.com named Anton Anton Ponkrashov into All-EuroChallenge 2nd Team. The guard also made it into Eurobasket.com Russian PBL All-Domestic Players Team. Anton Ponkrashov played for Russian National Team at 2010 World Championship. His stats read 6.7 points, 5.1 assists and 1.9 boards in Turkey.

Unicaja Malaga announced signing of Kristaps Valters (190-G-81) for the next season. The Malaga team also has option for 2012/13. Valters heads to Unicaja from Fuenlabrada, where he spent last season. The Latvian point guard had 10.4 ppg, 2.7 rpg and 4.5 apg in 34 games. Season 2009/10, Valter spent with DKV Joventut. He had 7.5 ppg, 1.6 rpg and 4.3 apg for them in 33 Spanish league games. In EuroCup, Valters added 6.8 ppg, 1.5 rpg and 4.7 apg. In 2008/09, Valters also played for Fuenla. Before that he was a member of Scafati, Udine, Triumph Lybertsy, Oldenburg, Panionios and Skonto Riga.
Kristaps Valters was a member of the Latvian National from 1999 until 2009. At the EuroBasket in Poland he had 9.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg and 4 apg for 8 games.

As expected, Artsiom Parakhouski (211-C-87, college: Radford) officially became a new member of Bennet Cantu. He signed a one-year deal with the club. Parakhouski could replace Benjamin Ortner, close to leave the team and be in the frontline of the team along with Marko Scekic and Denis Marconato. Artsiom Parakhouski started in 2006-2007 for S.Idaho JC (JUCO) and in 2008-2009 joined Radford (NCAA, starting five). In 33 games he averaged 16.2ppg, 11.2rpg, 1.1apg, 1.5bpg, FGP: 53.7%, FT: 65.5%. In 2009-2010 for Radford (NCAA, starting five) in 31 games he averaged 21.4ppg, 13.4rpg, 1.1apg, 2.1bpg, FGP: 58.1%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 56.2%. In 2010-2011 moved to VEF Riga (Latvia-LBL, starting five) and in Latvian League after 12 games had 10.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.3bpg, FGP: 60.0%, FT: 69.6%. In VTB League after 10 games he had 12.2ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.3bpg, FGP: 54.1%, FT: 63.8%, while in EuroCup averaged 8.0ppg, 5.3rpg, FGP: 67.7%, FT: 60.0%. In Baltic League after 25 games he had 15.2ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1spg, 1.3bpg, FGP: 62.6%, FT: 71.5%, played also at BK VEF Riga junior team (Latvia-LBL).
Bennet Cantu reached the SerieA Finals last season, but failed against Montepaschi. They were runners-up in regular season as well.

According to few sources Armani Jeans Milano announced Antonis Fotsis (210-F-81) for the next season. Recently Antonis Fotsis was reported to have agreed terms with Regal FC Barcelona. The Greek forward couldn't wait Panathinaikos Athens anymore and decided to accept a 3 Million Euro yearly salary offer for 2 years from the ACB Champions. Antonis Fotsis wanted to wait his favorite club even further but the Catalans deadline forced him to agree the terms. Antonis Fotsis joined Panathinaikos in 2008-2009 for 1,500,000 and averaged 7.2ppg, 4.7rpg, FGP: 62.2%, 3PT: 43.3%, FT: 71.4% in EuroLeague, while in Greek League after 33 games had 7.0ppg, 4.4rpg, FGP-3 (71.2%), 3PT: 36.8%, FT: 75.9%. In 2009-2010 for Panathinaikos Athens (A1) in Euroleague he had 6.2ppg, 5.5rpg, FGP: 68.6%, 3PT: 30.0%, FT: 81.8%, while in Greek League after 35 games showed 6.9ppg, 4.6rpg, FGP: 63.6%, 3PT: 35.6%, FT: 75.8%. Last season for Panathinaikos Athens (A1, starting five) Antonis Fotsis averaged 8.6ppg, 4.4rpg, FGP-1 (73.8%), 3PT: 41.7%, FT: 86.5% in Greek League and in Euroleague after 22 games had 8.4ppg, 5.1rpg, FGP-1 (76.1%), 3PT: 38.0%, FT: 64.7%.

Unics continued to bolster their frontcourt. They have agreed on terms of contract with Michael Wilkinson (204-F-81, agency: Interperformances, college: Wisconsin). The 29-year-old forward spent the last season playing for Lokomotiv Kuban. He tallied 15.8 points, 7.1 boards, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game in EuroChallenge. In Russian PBL his stats read 13.8 points, 6.1 boards, 1.4 steals and 1.0 assist per appearance. Eurobasket.com named Michael Wilkinson into All-EuroChallenge 1st Team. The forward also earned All-Russian PBL Honourable Mention. Previously Michael Wilkinson had stints with Galatasaray, Khimky and Aris. He made it into Greek A1 All-Bosmans Team in 2007 as well as Turkish League All-Defensive Team in 2010. The forward played for FYR Macedonian National Team back in 2006-07 seasons.
