PRE-GAME QUOTES

Georgios Bartzokas, BC Khimki head coach:

“It looks like Panathinaikos is a top four team in the EuroLeague this year. Also, they added two players in Mike James and Adreian Payne. So, they added quality and athleticism, for sure. Right now, they have a deeper roster. First of all, we need to realize what kind of team they have and how we have to play. For me, the basic thing is that Calathes is the best assisting player and point guard in the EuroLeague, having 8.5 assists per game. It looks like he makes everybody involved in the game. Of course, it’s gonna be a specific situation about our defense on him. They have a different type of players; they have everything right now. For us it’s very important, because we’ll play at home and it will be a crucial game for us. We need to play very hard and very well if we want to win”.

Charles Jenkins, BC Khimki guard:

“As a team we had a productive practice week and get one more to get prepared for really important game on Friday. They play really well. Of course, we didn’t forget what happened to us when we were there. I think, it’s going to be a motivation for us to prove most ourselves that we are competing with a team like that. I mean, we had success against other EuroLeague teams but going there they really beat us pretty bad. I think, it’s a chance for us to prove to each other that we can play against one of the best teams in the EuroLeague, trying to do the best we can to get a win”.
