PRE-GAME QUOTES

Georgios Bartzokas, BC Khimki head coach:

“The situation is really complicated for us, first of all, because we don’t know how many players we will have this game. We have a lot of injures; Robinson is a questionable mark if he could play; Gill and Honeycutt are not going to play. At the same time, Zubkov left for national team. This situation hurt us a lot because in the position four we had only Monia and Zubkov, and now even Zubkov left. We have a lot of problems just to prepare the game and can’t make a normal practice without having not even a second position four man. We have to prepare for a tough game not in a normal situation, this is one issue. At the same time, we need to play against a very strong team. Right now, they are in a good situation, both mentally and physically, because they beat CSKA on the road. It’s always difficult to play in Istanbul against them. Fenerbahce has a very deep roster as we are talking about EuroLeague defending champions. It’s going to be interesting how we’ll play as we need to play as a team. Otherwise, we don’t have any luck”.

Thomas Robinson, BC Khimki center:

“After losing two games in a row we’ve got a chip on our shoulders right now. I think, it’s a perfect time to go there and face these guys proving we are competitive too. Definitely, it will be a hard-fought game. We respect their program but don’t fear anyone”.
