K.C. Rivers: Greetings from Lithuania!23 august 2012

BC Khimki has started preparations for the upcoming season. Now our players are in Lithuania. American guard K.C. Rivers shares his impressions with us about first weeks spent in a new body.

Hello everybody!

I would like to tell you about our preparations we hold in Lithuania. The hotel we are in is Violeta. It's on the lake and it's not much scenery. We've had a few days off more so to relax. The place we are in is a small town but peaceful if you're not a city person then this is the type of place to live.

We have two trainings a day, the main one takes place during the evening. We really are starting to get after it. For us new guys we are learning the offense and defensive schemes to better acquaint ourselves with the returning guys. We usually get up around 9 am. In our free time we usually rest. One time we had the day off we went to Aqua Park that's in the city in which it had numerous saunas, jacuzzis, and water slides indoors. It was very relaxing for the guys.

Well, couple of words about coaching staff. The staff is great. Very responsive. Predrag Zimonjic really pushes during strength training to get the best out of the workout. The doctors are the doctors jut ready and waiting for something to happen but overall very nice guys. Pavel is very cool. Very laid back and quiet. As for coach Kurtinaitis, he is serious when he has to be. He shares a few moments where he laughs. I and he have not talked one on one as far as what he demands from me. But I'm sure somewhere in time we will have that type of discussion.

I'm rooming with Benjamin Dudu. I typically communicate with everybody. I have not been amazed by any one guy. Everybody is unique in their own way. No one really seems uptight or distant. I'm not sure who is the main joker in the team but I can almost bet its one of the young guys. Also I acquainted with Kresimir and Zoran. Both are great guys. And they communicate well on and off the court. I can say right now it feels that they both will make the game easier for me and others. We also communicate with the young guys. Whether it is showing a better way to do something or just having general conversations or asking them questions about the city. I can say that they have a passion to learn and to get better and they respond well to the teaching.

Take care,

K.C. Rivers
