BC Khimki vs Valencia Basket: pre-game comments15 april 2012

The Final Eurocup 2012 game between BC Khimki Moscow Region and Valencia Basket, Spain will be held at the pitch of Basketball Center of Moscow Region on Sunday, April 15 at 18.30 msk. Head coaches and players share their opinion before the game.

Rimas Kurtinaitis, BC Khimki head coach:

— I watched the first two quarters of the Valencia semifinal and I also have watched them in the Spanish League often. They are in good shape and play in the Spanish style, which is to say very fast and full of energy. We did some scouting of them, the last five games maybe. We know what they do and how they do it. We'll prepare our team in the morning practice and we'll see what happens.

Thomas Kelati, BC Khimki guard:

— In the back of my mind, I always thought we would play Valencia. Everyone was saying what a great final it would be to play Valencia in Khimki and I think it's going to be a helluva game. All the fans need to come out and support their teams, because it's going to go down to the wire. It's going to be a difficult game, but it's the one we wanted.

Velimir Perasovic, Valenci Basket head coach:

— Khimki is a great team that prepared all season to win this. They have high-quality players, who of course have a little of added pressure because of playing at home. But they are expert players who I am sure can handle the pressure. The fact that they play at home I guess will help them. After seeing the game of yesterday in which they shot 28 free throws and Spartak only 7, but I think that was coincidental.

Victor Claver, Valencia Basket forward:

— Khimki is a team formed by great players. In fact it's a team built for the Euroleague. They have shown it by getting to the final. It will be a difficult game because of their experience. It will be a special game because Matt and Thomas are there, but it's also true that both teams want to win this. On court there are no friends, and we will do our best.
