The fifth turn of confrontation15 may 2007

BC Khimki went to the capital of Tatarstan, where will play with UNICS in semifinals on Wednesday and Thursday. BC Khimki and UNICS will meet in semifinals for the first time. But this series will be the fifth in history of Moscow Region-Kazan confrontation.

The presentation of UNICS

The Club was founded on 1991. That year UNICS debuted in the country’s first championship league. Since 1997 the team has the right to participate in the Russian Basketball Federation’s Superleague.

During six years Stanislav Eremin had been the head coach of UNICS. Since June 2006 the team has been headed by Lithuanian specialist Antanas Sireika. Stombergas Saulius is the most titled player of UNICS.

In 2003 the Basketball centre “Basket-khall” with 7500 places stand was opened.
